I made these for a halloween engagement party 2009 and they were a big hit. I used 4 avocados fresh chopped garlic, juice from 1/2 lime and salt and pepper to taste. I liked the olive cut side up. Marg

This looks like a really cute appetizer and I'm going to try it next week. One question about the quantities, though: Shouldn't the quantity of olives be the same as the tomatoes, since both are cut in half, and you need one (half) olive for each half tomato? Also, 16 tomatoes will give you 32 (not 16) eyes. Thanks for contributing the recipe and idea.

These were creepy looking. I had to force myself to eat them as they kept staring at me. When I finally did, I liked them. Thank you.

These were fun and very tasty. I used very finely chopped freshgarlic and they were great.I would cut back on the lime juice just a bit next time though.
