Grilled Tuna Steak

Recipe #48824 | 55 min | 45 min prep | add private note

By: KimmieOH
Dec 15, 2002

My husband and I enjoy fresh grilled Tuna. I know what some of you may be thinking — UGH — Tuna like from a can — gross — that was my first thought when I heard the words Tuna. This is different though. This has an excellent flavor. just like grilled steak.

SERVES 4 , 1 LB. Tuna (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Combine Olive Oil, Old Bay, Lime and Lemon Juice.
  2. 2
    Mix Well.
  3. 3
Pour over Tuna Steaks and marinade 20 minutes, turning occasionally.
  4. 4
Make sure grill is hot – place steaks in hottest section and Sear steaks 1 to 2 minutes per side to seal in the juices.
  5. 5
Finish cooking just slightly away from the hottest area – 8 to 10 minutes per inch of thickness.
  6. 6
My husband likes extra Old Bay on his steak so he sprinkles extra on before cooking and we also like to squeeze fresh lemon over our tuna before we eat it.
  7. 7
    ENJOY!

Very good tuna. I served it with a basil vinaigrette, potatoes, and salad. Do be careful of the marinating time. Mine started to cook.

Delicious! I just got done cooking this bad boy on the grill and I can safely say this was a restaurant quality meal. I paired it with a Caesar salad and some penne pasta with a citrus herb cream sauce. My date thoroughly enjoyed it! Top marks!

This was easy, tasty and worthy of any tuna steak that finds it's way into my house. I did it exactly as written. All I did different was deglaze the pan with some white wine and lemon zest. Yes, I did this in a skillet and the results were superb!

Good Golly Miss Molly, this is fantastic! Loved everything about it. The Old Bay gave it wonderful flavor mixed in with the lemon and lime it was the ultimate! If you haven't tried tuna this way DO IT! You won't be sorry. Outstanding! When grilling the trick is to sear in the juices, so make sure your grill is nice and hot! Tuna served in the finest restaurants are pink in the middle, so don't think you have to cook it to death, because it is best this way!
