Saw this made on a Foodtv show. It is so easy and would be great with some ice cream. This is being posted for the strawberry swap.

SERVES 4 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

    Preheat grill to high.

    Coat strawberries with balsamic vinegar.
  3. 3
    Then roll in the sugar.
  4. 4
    Place on a hot grill to mark, approximately 1-2 minutes.

    Remove from heat and serve.

I made this last night. It's so good. Our local strawberries aren't ready yet so the strawberries we can get come from far away and are picked before they're ripe. Grilling brought out their flavour. My DH, who doesn't care for food experiments loved them.

    Yum! I used Splenda. I let the berries soak in the vinegar for a few hours. They came out very tart!

    Sorry, this didn't do much for me! All we got was a warmed strawberry. Couldn't distinguish the balsamic vinegar or the sugar. Proably won't do this again

    I must say I have never had strawberries on the grill before and man were these good!! They were very easy and simple to prepare and we served them over vanilla ice cream. Thanks for a great recipe Ducky!
