This wonderfully flavored asparagus evolved from a Cooking Light recipe. Prep time includes time to marinate.

SERVES 4 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Snap off tough ends of asparagus and wash well through 2-3 changes of cold water.
  2. 2
Combine all ingredients in a large zip-top plastic bag, seal and marinate for 30-60 minutes.
  3. 3
    Preheat grill on high heat.
  4. 4
Remove asparagus from bag (discard marinade) and place on preheated oiled grill rack.
  5. 5

Gayla this is a 10 star recipe! Honestly, I served the grilled marinaded asparagus along side our "normal" lightly steamed asparagus topped with hollandaise sauce for our side dish one evening. To say the least ALL the grilled asparagus was gone and the family was looking for more (the steamed asparagus plate was barely touched). I am ashamed that I haven't reviewed this until now as we have been enjoying this for months now. Thank you for a family regular!!!!!!!!

Great flavor and very easy. I marinated for 2 hours and I also added a teaspoon of brown sugar just to boost the sweetness of the asparagus. My guests loved it and asked for the recipe. I will make this again

I was planning to post this recipe but found it already posted. I have been making this excellent recipe for a few years now. The only change that I make, is including 1 tsp of lemon zest. Otherwise it is the same. I always include it with my summer barbeque menu. You can't go wrong with this side dish. Like I said it is excellent!
