I don't remember where this recipe came from or if it was my Mom's or my Grandma's. At any rate, I make this as a side dish for every Thanksgiving meal.

1 CASSEROLE (change servings and units)

Ingredients

  • 2 (14 1/2 ounce) cans French style green beans

  • 1 (10 3/4 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup

  • 1 (8 ounce) can French-fried onions

Directions

  1. 1
    Drain the beans thoroughly.
  2. 2
Put one can of drained beans in a casserole dish.
  3. 3
Add 1/2 of the soup and 1/2 of the onions on top of the beans.
  4. 4
    Repeat layers.
  5. 5
Bake for 45 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

To me and my family this is the only way to make green bean casserole. My husband requests it every holiday. Thanks for sharing.

My DH requests this dish every Thanksgiving. for a little more flavor, I like to add a little Worchester sauce to the soup and sprinkle cheddar cheese on top before adding the onions.

I made this recipe a long time ago but I must have forgotten to review it. I have been requested to make it for Thanksgiving dinner and could not find the recipe. So sorry for the lateness! I would not change a thing on this recipe. It was so simple to make and very tasty!!
