Grandma's Sweet Potatoes

My grandmother always made these for Thanksgiving, and now that she is no longer with us, I never go a year without making them for my family!

SERVES 6 (change servings and units)

    preheat oven to 350.
  2. 2
    cut yams into quarters and boil until fork slides out very easily. Drain and peel skins off.
  3. 3
    With a mixer, combine yams with sugar, 1/2 stick butter, and evaporated milk until there are no lumps.
  4. 4
    in seperate bowl, combine brown sugar, stick of melted butter, flour and pecan halves.
  5. 5
    spread yams in a pan and pour pecan mixture over top. swirl through with a knife.
  6. 6
    bake 45 minutes.
