Goji Berries are an Asian fruit & contain more antioxidants than blueberries & are healthy in many other ways. Although their mild taste is a little different, here's one way to enjoy them. The smoothie can also be made with equal quantities of Goji Berries & other berries, apples or cherries, while substituting rice milk for the orange juice.

SERVES 2 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 5 ice cubes
  • 1 cup dried goji berry
  • 2 ripe bananas

Directions

  1. 1
    Combine ingredients in blender.
  2. 2
Blend for 1 minute & serve.

I bought some goji berries at the market without knowing anything about them. Saw your recipe and thought that it was very informative and decided to try it. This was really good and I'm glad that I tried this pretty smoothie. I was pleasantly surprised. You could taste the orange juice and the banana. They complimented the tart, sharp, semi-sweet berries, very well.

I thought this was good, though it wasn't exactly my ideal smoothie. I'd give it 4 stars and the fifth is from my mom, who was very impressed with it! She's improving her diet and plans to make this regularly! Thank you!

We had a pack of Heaven Mountain Goji Berries and this seemed a perfect way to try them (especially since we're both getting over a cold, and this is such a healthy drink). This is a very yummy drink and you can definitely taste the Goji berries. We thought we'd include some Goji Berry info here for those who are unfamiliar to them. Goji berries (also called wolfberries) are grow in regions of China, Mongolia, and the Himalayas in Tibet. They're part of the nightshade family that includes peppers, tomatoes, and potatoes. Fresh ripe goji berries can be hard to track down, so people usually eat them dried. Similar in appearance to raisins, the dried berries have a tangy slightly sweet and sour taste.
