I found this recipe off the Bon Appetit archives years ago. This is a nice change from ordinary tea. The warmed milk is great for sleep and the ginger is perfect for the settling of the stomach. You can't go wrong with this one!!! I am so glad that you posted this one Mirj...you saved me from posting this and doing all the typing

Really lovely. I loved the subtle flavors of the spices in this- particularly the orange. Most spiced teas that I make have just common chai spices like cloves, cardamom, cinnamon, etc in them, so the orange was really a fabulous change from the norm. I don't usually sweeten my tea, but I thought the brown sugar added a very nice rich flavor in addition to its sweetness. I made a third of the recipe- that is, 2 servings. BF and I loved it. We had Indian for dinner last night, and this was the perfect light dessert/after dinner drink. I make teas like this with my french press, which its really terrific for. Thanks for a nice one, Mirj!

I thought this tea was delicious! I plan to serve it guests as well. I halved the recipe ingredients and it still came out perfect. I used thin slices of crystallized ginger rather than fresh, as that was what I had on hand. The flavor is like a homemade version "Constant Comment" tea with lots of milk and sugar. I had some lovely Indian Kalami loose tea leaves which worked out well in this. Some tips: Keep a watchful eye on your tea after to add the milk - I heated to just a very beginning of a boil, then dropped the heat to the lowest setting - all the while keeping the cover off. Once the 2 minutes were past, and you remove the tea from heat, I re-covered the tea and let it steep only 4 minutes. Also - for easy straining, place a papper coffee filter into a mesh strainer basket set over a bowl or jug. The coffee filter and the mesh strainer catch every last tea leaf.

This tea is "DELICIOUS"! I just decided that I had to try this this evening, and, made 1 cup of this tea. OOOOOOOOOH!!!! I am going crazy and oooh and aaaah o'er this tea, it's so different from the usual tea. I'm not a great tea lover, I love coffee, especially cappucino, but, this tea is now on the top of my list of favourite beverages. I've added 2 tsps. of white sugar and I used about 1 1/2 tbsp. of brown sugar for 1 cup of tea. I just have to say that I'm addicted to this tea from this day. Thank you for such a gingery-spicy-sweet delcious evening with this "Out of the world" tea
