My grandmother made this every summer when her garden tomatoes ripened (she added a pinch of sugar). It's really one of the best ways to enjoy fresh tomatoes. Simple, but wonderfully tasty. Thanx for posting!

I used cider vinegar and sea salt. Sea salt is the best on tomatoes!! MMm... this is sooo good. I will make this again and again and again.... Made for Every Day is A Holiday Aug. 09

This was so easy and delicious! I used cider vinegar. I tossed it all together and let it sit in the fridge for about 4 hours. I had this with lunch and dinner, the same day. Thank you, Nora!

This was okay; I tried this recipe several times using different types of vinegar. While browsing other recipes, I came across Sicilian Tomato and Onion Salad, and tried that too. Both use olive oil, but the other leaves out vinegar. I now know I prefer it that way (and I'm 100% German!)
