Recipe #38435 | 1¾ hours | 1¾ hours prep | add private note

(For electric Ice Cream Machines) This recipe makes a delicious, soft, custard-type ice cream. If you prefer a firmer ice cream, you can chill it for an extra cycle in your ice cream machine or place it in a bowl in your freezer for an hour before serving. Prep time includes the 1 hour chilling time and the 1/2 hour beat/freezing time.

1 Quart (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Regular version

Diet version

Directions

  1. 1
In food processor/blender, puree peaches (peeling the peaches is optional).
  2. 2
Blend peach puree and all ingredients until very smooth.
  3. 3
Chill ice cream mix until cold, about 1-2 hours.
  4. 4
Pour mix into your ice cream machine and process according to manufacturer's directions.
  5. 5
It may be necessary to continue the"chill/beat" cycle for 15-30 minutes after the first cycle stops.
  6. 6
Note: Since fresh Peach Ice Cream is very soft, it maybe necessary to let it"ripen" in your ice cream maker for an additional 45 minutes (or place in a bowl in freezer) if you prefer a firmer ice cream.

This was very good and easy to prepare. Next time I may try omitting the almond extract. It seemed to overpower the peaches.

I made this last weekend. It was delicious! I held back one peach that I diced up and added to the machine about 5 minutes before it was done so there would be bits of peach in the ice cream. Also, I added just a pinch of cinnamon. Delicious! Thanks for a great recipe.

This ice cream was really great! I had some frozen peaches that were in need of a home. This was the perfect choice. To accompany them, I sprinkled filo dough with butter, sugar, and cinnamon and put them in a muffin tin. Then I baked the filo cups for 20 minutes at 350'. After they cooled I scooped the peach ice-cream into the middle of the cups. Delicious! Thanks for this recipe.

Has a wonderful flavor! I think this would also be nice with little bits of chopped peaches added. Very simple to make and will be a part of my regular collection! Thanks for posting!
