Foam Soap Refill

Recipe #103893 | 1 min | 1 min prep | add private note

Don't throw away your foam soap dispenser or spend extra on the refills when you run out. It's easy to make your own! This also works with shampoo.

1 bottle (change servings and units)

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons liquid hand soap or Joy dishwashing soap
  • 2/3 cup warm water

Directions

  1. 1
    Gently mix soap with water.
  2. 2
    Do not shake.
  3. 3
    Pour into foam soap dispenser.
  4. 4
Note: I used Dawn dishwashing liquid (apple blossom anti-bacterial soap) with great results.
  5. 5
I did a test run first using 1 tablespoon soap to 4 tablespoons water.

This recipe DOES work, and well too! I use the EQUATE brand of Soft Soap Vanilla refill bottle, and this recipe put the old soap in my foam bottle to SHAME!! It was much creamier/thicker than the original soap in that bottle. I used some advice from another reviewer, and added my own essential oil (Tea Tree) because our family has eczema and always seems to have cuts/scrapes or torn cuticles on our hands. This is a great way to incorporate your own scents/oils and SOOOO money saving. I will have that big bottle of refill soap for years!

Love this!!!! What I did was I drew a line on the bottle(with a black permanent marker) after I poured in the 3T of soap and then another line where the water ended up. Then I wont have to measure out the ingredients everytime I need to refill. I do this with all the cleaning supplies I make. Less mess. :D

This was great! You have to give the soapy mixture at least 10 minutes after you combine the water and soap until the foam comes out right. Too early and its watery.
