I got this recipe out of a Southern Traditions, a cookbook published by our local Southern Pine Electric Corporation. This book was sold as a fundraiser for The American Cancer Society. It is quick and easy and can be easily adapted to the types of fruit you like best. Cook time is actually chill time.

SERVES 6 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Mix in a bowl and chill well.
  2. 2
    Serve on lettuce leaves.

We call this salad "Aunt Helen's Salad: because she always made it for holidays. After Aunt Helen passed the tradition of making this went to my daughter. It's so easy for a small child to make.

I was just about to enter my Five Cup Salad recipe and noticed that yours was a match to mine! YUMMY!!! There are many "Five Cup Salads" on the Zaar and most of them are more than 5 cups! Go figure!!! I've been making this one for years and all the family and friends love it!

This fruit salad is great! It's a keeper for taste, efficiency and presentation. I wondered about the sour cream being the ingredient to hold it all together, but it was very good. Nothing could be easier or quicker than throwing this together and setting it on the table. Thanks Jellyqueen!

A great party recipe. Just keep sour cream in the freezer, the cans, marshmallows and coconut stocked in your pantry and you are ready for any surprise potlucks.
