I worried a bit about these as I've never heard of an eggnog cookie. Happened across his recipe in an old cookbook. They are a very moist cookie. My family loved them!

SERVES 36 , 36 cookies (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Preheat oven to 300 degrees. In a bowl, combine all dry ingredients together. In a large bowl, cream together the sugar and butter until it resembles a grainy paste. Add eggnog, vanilla and egg yolks and beat at medium speed until smooth. Add the flour mixture and beat at low speed until blended. Do not overmix. Drop by teaspoons onto an ungreased baking sheet, 1 inch apart. Lightly sprinkle nutmeg over the unbaked cookies. Bake for approximately 20 minutes or until bottoms turn a light brown. Transfer from pans immediately to cool.

Everyone loved these! The nutmeg sprinkled on top is a step that shouldn't be skipped. Used Horizon organic lowfat eggnog, and the amount of eggnog flavor in the finished cookie was perfect. Thanks for sharing the recipe!

What a lovely holiday cookie recipe. MY DS loves eggnog and so when I came upon this recipe I just knew I had to give it a go. The eggnog flavor comes thru nicely along with the addition of the spices. This is a keeper for the CHRISTmas time cookie trays and I thank-you for posting. Made for NewKids on the Block tag game~

These were delicious! You could taste the eggnog and nutmeg, but it wasn't overpowering. I dipped mine in cinnamon sugar rather than dusting with nutmeg and they came out like snickerdoodles.
