My son says he has eaten lasagna in so many restaurants, trying to find one as good as mine, but never has. So every time we visit him in Michigan I'm sure to make this for him.

SERVES 8 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
In 13x9 pan, spoon a little of the sauce.
  2. 2
Place 3 lasagna noodles on the sauce.
  3. 3
Mix cottage cheese, egg, and parmesan cheese in a bowl.
  4. 4
Spread 1/3 of this over noodles.
  5. 5
    Add 1/3 of the sauce.
  6. 6
    Sprinkle with 1 cup mozzarella.
  7. 7
Now, add 3 more noodles, 1/3 more cottage cheese mixture, 1/3 more sauce.
  8. 8
Add 1 cup more mozzarella cheese.
  9. 9
One more time, do the layers.
  10. 10
Bake in 350°F oven for about 1 hour.
  11. 11
Top should be light brown and bubbly.

WOW WOW WOW!!!! This is the BEST lasagna I have ever had. I cooked 1/2 pound hamburger with a few chopped onions and added that to the sauce. It has a whole lot of flavor, is very moist and cheesy. It was so easy to put together. Even without precooking the noodles, they are as done as if you had cooked them! This one has the perfect taste, We will make it a lot!! THANK YOU!!

What an outstanding lasagna, and so simple to make!! I made a couple of these for a funeral and one comment I received was from an Italian lady who said it was almost as good as her mother's... I took that as a great compliment indeed. I, too, added some meat and onions, and next time would also go for a spaghetti sauce with a little garlic and maybe some kick to it. This was enjoyed by all. Thanks for this wonderful recipe!! Dianne
