This is a fool proof, quick and easy way to whip up a tasy dish when the cupboard is bare. I am both thrilled and amazed how easy it is to turn a packet of 'Top Ramen type' noodles into a gourmet dish!

SERVES 4 -6 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

  • 1 packet Top Ramen noodles
  • 2 cups milk
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • cracked pepper, to taste
  • 6 tablespoons sour cream (Sour cream can be eliminated as an ingredient or substituted with a few slices of cheese of any type)

Directions

  1. 1
Set aside the flavor packet and boil the noodles according the instructions on the packet (usually 3 minutes).
  2. 2
    Drain and set aside.
  3. 3
Stir together the milk and flour and then cook them on med-high in the same pot you just used to cook the noodles.
  4. 4
Add the flavor packet and cracked pepper, stirring constantly.
  5. 5
The sauce will thicken nicely within a few minutes.
  6. 6
Add the sour cream, still stirring.
  7. 7
Mix the cooked noodles back in and pour the noodles and sauce into a serving dish and Presto!
  8. 8
--You have a creamy, tasty and satisfying meal that can be served as is or can be dressed up as a side dish or with veggies of your choice added into it, or with baked chicken etc.
  9. 9
placed on top of it and served as an entree.

The sauce came out entirely to thick. Umm It needed some more spices to it. Overall I think it just needed something more.

This was an easy meal to throw together, but it didn't a lot of comments. It won't be something I'll make again. Made for Fall PAC 2008.

This was quick and easy. It seemed to make too much sauce, so I would either use 2 packets of noodles OR make half as much sauce next time. I stirred in a handful of shredded italian cheese blend, and served it with diced leftover roast chicken and vegetables. Good way to dress up leftovers. Thanks for sharing.

This was OK for a quick lunch. I stirred in a can of tuna and some garlic pepper. I found that I had way more sauce than noodles- next time, I'd cut down on the milk and not let it thicken as long. Thanks!
