Amazing! I used five granny smith apples and it came out perfect! I've never made a pie from scratch before. This was easy and delicious!

Wow, this is so good I've made it twice this season. I make a homemade bottom crust one day, then do this part the next day. I mixed apple types: golden delicious, Empire, red delicious (not too many). Yes, I used real butter. This was perfect, not runny at all but pleasantly juicy. I used to get apple pie that was baked in paper bags at a farm market in Wisconsin when I was a camp counselor, and this pie tastes just like I remember those... a slice of heaven. Thanks for the great recipe.

This is DELICIOUS! I looked especially for an apple pie that called for one non-graham crust so this fit the bill. The topping is heavenly, I added a 1/2 c. chopped walnuts to it and it made it so good! The filling is extremely sweet, as someone mentioned, so if you prefer a filling that is not candy-sweet, cut down the sugar by perhaps half. We devoured it fresh and hot from the oven. Thank you!

yummo... used 6 granny smith apples- we like a full pie!! because it was so full mine took a little over an hour- the last 15 covered with foil to prevent over browning. the topping is delish, hint, use real butter.
