From his anti-aging show on Oprah. I originally posted it as given on Oprah's show, but updated it with information from her website. Original posting: 4 stalks celery 1 cucumber 1 cup spinach 1 lemon, juice of * 1 lime, juice of 1 large apple 1/2 inch piece fresh ginger (peeled)

SERVES 1 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Optional ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Put all ingredients in blender and blend until smooth.
  2. 2
This recipe makes 28 to 30 ounces or about three to four servings. This will be very thick and you may need to add water - If you have a juicer this may work better.
  3. 3
The green drink has a strong taste and if you are used to drinking soda or sweet tea, the taste will take some getting used to. Dr. Oz suggests adding other items at first to sweeten the green drink to your taste.

This is missing some stuff. here's the real recipe, which is great. 2 cups spinach 2 cups cucumber 1 stalk of celery 1/2 inch or teaspoon ginger root 1 bunch parsley 2 apples Juice of 1 lime Juice of 1/2 lemon After everything is combined in a blender, this recipe makes 28 to 30 ounces–about three to four servings. This will be very thick and you may need to add water - If you have a juicer this may work better.

There's lots of Vitamin A and potassium in this recipe, but cleaning the juicer is a pain in the neck. The taste and health benefits are not worth the effort. These ingredients can be eaten daily in a variety of different, more simple ways. Dr. Oz says he drinks this every morning--I'm willing to bet he doesn't wash dishes at his house.

This drink is great, my boyfriend and I just made it. He tried it in the juicer and I tried it in the blender. I ended up using the jucier then blending it with ice in the blender. Also I added Mint to mine and it was better. He added a whole lime and lemon and his was a bit more bitter, just use the juice.

I love this drink, it is very refreshing! I add just a little extra ginger. I drink this in the morning for breakfast, It is very satisfying and highly alkaline. My doctor has recommended that I follow the anti-inflammatory diet since I have high active levels of Eptein Barr Virus in my system. This drink fits right in, it helps give me a sustained energy. This drink does take about 10 minutes to make (including clean up), but it's well worth it.
