Delicious Low Carb Goat Cheese Stuffed Shrimp

Recipe #55315 | 35 min | 20 min prep | add private note

By: Meri Dean
Mar 2, 2003

I saw a similar recipe on a television show but it did not include the syrup.

SERVES 4 -5 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Cut each shrimp down the back and remove vein.
  2. 2
Butterfly each shrimp and pound lightly with mallot.
  3. 3
Put about 1/2-1 teaspoon of herbed goat cheese inside shrimp.
  4. 4
Carefully wrap each shrimp with bacon, starting with tail end and secure with one or two toothpicks.
  5. 5
Do this to all shrimp until finished.
  6. 6
In large pan or skillet add 2-3 tablespoons of olive oil and heat.
  7. 7
Carefully add each wrapped shrimp to hot oil.
  8. 8
Cook until lightly browned on all sides then remove from pan to foil covered roasting pan.
  9. 9
    Heat oven to broil.
  10. 10
Drizzle each shrimp with sugar free syrup, not too much, just enough to flavor.
  11. 11
Broil shrimps until brown, turn over to cook reverse side.
  12. 12
    About 3 minutes per side.
  13. 13
    That's it!
  14. 14
Be careful of toothpicks when serving.
  15. 15
Great appetizer or side with your high protein meal.
