Danish Cinnamon Bars

Recipe #124830 | 30 min | 10 min prep | add private note

By: Bec
Jun 6, 2005

I love making bars because they don't require all the work of shaping of cookies. Just press the dough in a pan, bake, and cut into bars. A delicious holiday treat and can be made ahead and frozen.

SERVES 20 -24 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
    Heat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. 2
Beat egg; add remaining ingredients except granulated sugar and mix well (use your hands if necessary).
  3. 3
Press dough into ungreased 13x9x2 inch pan.
  4. 4
Sprinkle granulated sugar evenly over bars.
  5. 5
    Bake 15 to 20 minutes.
  6. 6
    Cool slightly; cut into bars.
  7. 7
Cool completely; remove from pan and store in airtight container.

Yummy! These bars are so perfectly chewy and delicious. I love cinnamon and these are a real treat. So easy to make. I only used 1 cup of butter and baked in an 8x11 pan for 30 minutes. Thanks for sharing your recipe

Really delicious! I'm sure I won't find out whether they freeze well as I think they're going to be eaten really quickly! Good easy recipe and clear instructions - thanks!

The "hook" that got me for these was "do ahead" and "frozen". That is just what I did. I now have another "goodie" to put out for unexpected guests. By the way, they tasted great too. Thanks Bec
