Found this recipe using whole wheat flour on recipeland. A special cast iron pan is needed to make these.

Ingredients

Directions

    Stir together flour, baking powder, salt and sugar.

    Mix egg yolks and milk together well.
  3. 3
    Add this mixture to the dry ingredients.
  4. 4
    Stir until just blended.
  5. 5
    Beat egg whites until stiff and fold them into batter.
  6. 6
    Heat aebleskiver pan.
  7. 7
    Spoon 1/2 teaspoon oil into each section and fill 2/3 full with batter.

    Cook over medium heat until bubbles appear.

    Turn with a fork or skewer and cook the other side until lightly browned.

    To vary flavor, add a slice of banana or peach to each section before it is turned.
