Dad's Apple Crisp

My dad has been making this for me ever since I was a little kid. This recipe is nice because there is not a lot leftover to tempt you for breakfast

SERVES 6 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

    Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. 2
    Combine the flour, 1/2 cup brown sugar, salt, baking powder, baking soda, butter, and oatmeal.
  3. 3
    Refrigerate until cool, about 15 minutes.
  4. 4
    Toss the cubed apples in the lemon juice, then in a combination of 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1/4 cup white sugar, and 1 tsp cinnamon.

    Place the apples in a square or round 9" baking dish.
  6. 6
    Crumble the topping mixture over the apples and bake for 45-60 minutes or until the apple juices are bubbling over the topping.

What can I say but this was a nice ending to an excellant meal we had tonight. Very easy to make ~ my type of week night dessert. Highly recommend !

    I made this for fall PAC 2007. Yummmy. I did everything as posted except I used splenda instead of white sugar only because that's what I had. I will make this often as it was really easy and delish Thanks Chandra!! "Queen uh Cuisine"
