Crock Pot Hungarian Beef Goulash

I found this recipe in Women's World Magazine. It's pretty easy to make and tastes great.

SERVES 4 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
    Place onions and carrots in crock pot.
  2. 2
    Combine next four ingredients; toss beef with this mixture and add to crock pot.
  3. 3
    Combine broth, wine, tomato paste, paprika and garlic; pour over beef.
  4. 4
    Cover crock pot and cook 7-8 hours on low.
  5. 5
    When stew is ready cook noodles and transfer to platter.
  6. 6
    Stir sour cream into stew.
  7. 7
    Top noodles with stew.

This was good, it made the meat really tender.. could have used something else for flavour, but we enjoyed it.

    This for us got mixed reactions. It was wonderfully tender, very moist, and truly utilzed the crock pot well. I added the caraway seeds suggested in another review & they were a jarring note for our tastes. I would also add less wine next time. Made for Spring '09 Pick A Chef.

    This was one of the easiest recipes I have ever made! It's got a great taste (although I did up the paprika to 5 teaspoons and added about two teaspoons of chili powder)! DEEEELISIOSO!! Thank you!!
