Crock Pot Hot Fudge Sundae Cake

This is a nice fudgie cake for dessert. The cake can stand while you are whipping up a quick main course eg a grill and salad.

SERVES 6 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

    Spray inside of 2- 3 1/2 quart crock with cooking spray.
  2. 2
    Mix flour, sugar, 2 TBS cocoa, baking powder and salt in medium bowl.
  3. 3
    Stir in milk, oil and vanilla until smooth.
  4. 4
    Stir in nuts.
  5. 5
    Spread batter evenly in slow cooker.
  6. 6
    Mix brown sugar and 1/4 cup cocoa in small bowl.
  7. 7
    Stir in hot water until smooth.
  8. 8
    Pour evenly over batter in crock.
  9. 9
    Cover and cook on high 2- 2 1/2 hours or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

    Turn off crock.

    Let cake stand uncovered 30- 40 minutes to cool slightly before serving.

    Spoon warm cake into dessert dishes.

    Spoon sauce over top.

This was AMAZING!! Best part, I can do it in the summer since the oven is unnecessary! We love it and make it in the summer a lot. Thanks for the great recipe!

    Delicious!! I was not sure how chocolaty this would be and had 1 cup left in a bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips, so I threw them in the cake batter before putting it in the crockpot. OH WOW was this decadent tasting!!

    I never would have believed you could make such an easy delicious cake in a crockpot! The sauce was the perfect compliment to this rich and fudgey cake. I prepared as directed, only using my 5 1/2 Qt. crockpot which still took 2 hours to cook. Vanilla ice cream would be perfect with this cake. Thank you Chrissy, for such a simple and simply delicious treat!

    Good cake!!!! Thanks Chrissy,This cake is very good,not hard to make,and I am a chocoholic,so this is a very tasty addiction.But You Do need to let people know the SAUCE is on the bottom,i kept wandering if I had not read the recipe right,but when I ran my knife around the edges to loosen it ,I found the Sauce,It is Delicious too,I love anything that tastes like fudge.Thanks again, Darlene Summers
