This is a wonderful tasty dish for those rainy days ahead. It has a mellow flavor and the meat is succulent but for some it may need a bit of hot sauce (I added 2 tbsp to the sauce).

SERVES 4 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Place onion rings in the bottom of your crock pot.
  2. 2
Place ribs on top (trim off any excess fat).
  3. 3
Whisk together the remaining ingredients except the corn starch.
  4. 4
Reserve 1 cup--cover and refrigerate this cup.
  5. 5
Pour remaining sauce over the ribs, cover pot.
  6. 6
Cook at low for 5-6 hrs, drain ribs, keep warm.
  7. 7
In a small saucepan, add 1 1/2 tsp cornstarch already mixed in cold water to the reserved sauce , simmer until it thickens.
  8. 8
Serve with noodles, rice or gnocchi.

Delicious! I did make a few substitutions. I didn't have tomato juice or vegetable coctail so I used 1 8 oz can of tomato sauce and 1 can of water. I didn't have Dijon mustard to I used regular. I didn't have poultry seasoning so I used Herbs de Provence. I also did not reserve any of the sauce. I poured all of it into the crockpot. I started with frozen ribs and cooked them 2 hours low, 2 hours on high, then 4 hours on low again. They came out great.

Everybody in the house loves these ribs; 3 very picky little girls, and none denied a second helping!

Sorry but the vinegar flavor in these was overpowering. I prefer my old recipe of throwing a chopped onion, ribs and a bottle of bar-b-que sauce in the crockpot.

wow, the smell of these was wonderful!!! I did use spicey clamato and it really kicked it up. The meat just fell off the bone and the recipe was so easy to throw together. Thanks Bergy!
