Makes great barbecue sandwiches! You can use your favorite cola and sauce to vary the tastes. Good to freeze in smaller portions and pull out as needed.

1 I'm not sure..I just make it and freeze (change servings and units)

Ingredients

  • 1 pork roast
  • 1 1/2 cups cola

  • 1 (8 ounce) bottle barbecue sauce (your favorite)

Directions

  1. 1
Cut all visible fat from roast, put in crock and cook 12 hrs (You could set this to cook all night) on low.
  2. 2
Note: I pour a soda over the roast to give it a little extra flavor.
  3. 3
Remove meat from crock and drain all juice from crock.
  4. 4
Shred meat and return to crock add 1 bottle barbecue sauce and cola and cook 5-6 hrs more.
  5. 5
    MAKES A LOT!
  6. 6
    Freezes great.

I seasoned a beef roast and used a half can of diet root beer and cooked it all night. The next morning I pulled it apart, added a bottle of Sweet Baby Rays and the other half can of root beer. At dinner time, it was the best. The leftovers went to our Old Folks and they loved it too. This is easy and very tasty. Thanks.

I rubbed the roast with some sprinkles of salt, pepper, and garlic powder. I placed a couple onion slices on the bottom of the crockpot. I used Dr. Pepper and Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce. In fact, I was in a hurry and turned the crock on high. The roast still turned out great. It tasted just like the bbq at a national bbq chain restaurant. Thanks for this recipe!

This was great & couldn't be eaiser! I had a 4 lb. roast & cooked it overnight, maybe 12 1/2-13 hrs. Just 2 hrs after adding cola & sauce. DH ate 3 at one sitting. Great w/coleslaw and baked beans.
