Crispy Spicy French Fries

Recipe #97763 | 25 min | 15 min prep | add private note

I found the recipe on the internet. It's amazing. I have also used frozen french fries instead of fresh potatoes and it came out great.

SERVES 8 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 lbs potatoes, peeled
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 teaspoon onion salt
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 cup water (or more)
  • 1 cup vegetable oil, for frying

Directions

  1. 1
Slice potatoes into French fries, and place into cold water so they won't turn brown while you prepare the oil.
  2. 2
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. 3
While the oil is heating, sift the flour and spices into a large bowl.
  4. 4
Gradually stir in enough water so that the mixture can be drizzled from a spoon.
  5. 5
Dip potato slices into the batter one at a time, and place in the hot oil so they are not touching at first.
  6. 6
The fries must be placed into the skillet one at a time, or they will clump together.
  7. 7
Fry until golden brown and crispy.
  8. 8
Remove and drain on paper towels.

These fries were excellent along with our burgers and hot dogs on the grill. Loved the flavors from the spices!

These are fabulous! We couldn't stop eating them. Best fries that I've tried so far. Easy and quick to make. Thanks for posting.
