In England, swedish meatballs are very available and cheap. They are very good with the following cream sauce and boiled potatoes. My son, who has to be one of the faddiest people on the planet, found this delicious. This is from the cookbook 'Ikea's Real Swedish Food Book'.

I thought the sauce lacked that depth of flavor that we remembered with traditional swedish meatball sauce. Close but no cigar...sorry!

Perfect - Just what I needed. My only advice to other chefs is to watch out for the salt. I used reduced sodium beef broth and reduced sodium soy sauce so I figured it would need salt and I added a bit. I'm not sure if it got salty when the sauce reduced and thickened or when I simmered the meatballs in the sauce (the meatballs were pretty well seasoned). Luckily it wasn't too salty and had a great taste. Just make sure to add the salt at the very end of cooking. I will definitely make this sauce many times in the future! So easy - Thanks!

I made this last night and we enjoyed it quite a lot. It doesn't taste exactly the same as the sauce at Ikea but comes pretty close. We had it with meatballs and pasta and it made for a simple but comforting meal. I guess it would be even better with homemade Swedish Meatballs so that you actually had some juices in the pan to swirl out (see step 1), but I had bought mine in the supermarket and it was still good.

I had some Ikea meatballs on hand and thought I would try this (even though I had a pkg. of Ikea's sauce) and I have to say my family preferred this one. It was very simple to make and was delicious served over rice. Everyone said that they would like this again. Thanks!
