Recipe #63516 | 30 min | 15 min prep | add private note

By: Ducky
Jun 2, 2003

Saw this Paula Deen recipe on Foodtv.com and decided to try it. I never made biscuits before but thought I could do this, and I can. This is so easy.

SERVES 8 -10 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  2. 2
    Grease cookie sheet.
  3. 3
In mixing bowl, cut cream cheese into biscuit mix until cornmeal consistency.
  4. 4
Add milk until dough is moistened.
  5. 5
Place dough onto floured surface and knead 2-3 times (do not overknead or biscuits will be tough).
  6. 6
Use rolling pin to roll dough to desired thickness.
  7. 7
Cut biscuits with a round cookie cutter or biscuit cutter.
  8. 8
    Place on cookie sheet.
  9. 9
Bake until golden brown, approximately 15 minutes.

I saw this recipe on T.V. and I tried it right away. The biscuits where flaky and delicious. My family was confused about the flatness, but once they tasted them, they had no complaints.

These are very good. I used Carbquik bake mix instead of Bisquick and Carb Countdown milk for a low carb version. They tasted like regular biscuits, with a slight cream cheesy taste. If I didn't know there was cream cheese in the recipe, I probably couldn't have detected it. I think these would be good with some seasonings in the mix as well. Thanks for the recipe, I'll be making these regularly.

Beautiful biscuits and perfect with some jam. I used a scant 1/2 cup milk and got ten 2 1/2" biscuits from the dough. The cook time was right on in my oven. I was happy to use up some of my homemade biscuit mix. Thanks, Ducky.

These are so good and so easy to make! I made them as regular biscuits and also used them as the wraps for Flaky Chicken Wraps. I also used a homemade bisquick mix (recipe (#35950) and it turned out just fine with that substitute. I will be making these often. Thanks for a great recipe, Ducky!
