I have been making this recipe since I was 12 years old.. my brothers and I knew that we could have a snack in less than an hour and only clean 1 bowl. This is a very moist chocolate cake that can be served to your vegetarian friends for it has no dairy products

Directions

  1. 1
Add all of the dry ingredients to a bowl and mix them together to remove any lumps.

  3. 3
pour into an ungreased 9x14 pan, bake at 350 for 35-40 minutes.

My mom used to make this cake when we were growing up. I haven't made it in years. Boy, it sure brought back wonderful taste bud memories. I am in charge of birthday cake day each month at work and took this today with the Hershey's chocolate frosting recipe. To say it was a hit would be an understatement. I am truly a pie lover but occasionally will have cake, I took one bite of my sister's (we work together) and it was fabulous. Thanks for the memories. So good I'm going to make again for our annual Rod Run trip in a couple of weeks.

My exact recipe .... so yummy!!! Quick and easy and the kids love to help! I use Kittencal's Creamy White Buttercream Frosting/Icing for the icing.

I too have been making and eating this wonderful cake since i was a youngster... I have added my own touch to it as well. I use a simple icing of powdered sugar and water and pour it over the cake as soon as you take it out of the oven... the icing dissapears into the cake... yummy!!

Very good cake! I decided to try it despite my skepticism over the lack of dairy - it turned out wonderful. Moist, not too chocolately (but still satisfied my dark chocolate sweet tooth) and very easy to make. Definitely recommended!
