2 c Cranberries, raw 1 sm Onion 1/2 c Sugar 3/4 c Sour cream 2 T white horseradish (prepared) are the exacts ingredients in mama stamberg's classic cranberry relish. The only thing different is in the recipe i use to make mama's relish calls for it to be made in advance and frozzen then defrosted sightly on thanksgiving. I think being frozen gives it a lot more body. This was always a hit for thanksgiving at my grandparents house and now that they have passed away, at mine.

This recipe needs a little publicity before the upcoming holidays. It's an unusual use of cranberries, but everyone loves it (unless they don't like horseradish.) My original copy suggests it as a condiment for those left over turkey sandwiches. Don't process it too fine; leave a little chunky. You'll have a new tradition if you try this just once. Right, Babs?

This is a wake up your taste buds sauce. I added 2 ounces of softened cream cheese and 4 tablespoons horseradish. We like it spicy! The cream cheese give it a bit more body. Thanks Babs!
