Cranberry Bliss Bars (Starbucks Copycat )

Recipe #203229 | 2¾ hours | 40 min prep | add private note

You'll find these bars at Starbucks every Christmas season. The texture is like a chewy brownie, but the flavors include white chocolate, zesty orange, and cranberry. This recipe makes a 10x15 pan, but I've also posted a second version - Cranberry Bliss Bars (Easy Version ), #350660 - it uses a simpler list of ingredients and bakes in a 9x13 pan. For Valentine's Day, I used a heart-shaped cookie cutter and tinted the icing pink. They were beautiful!

TOPPING

Directions

  1. 1
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees (325 for a glass or dark pan). Prepare a 10x15 by lining it with parchment paper or use a non-stick spray.
  2. 2
BARS: Melt butter; cool slightly. With an electric mixer, beat together melted butter and sugars 3-5 minutes until light; gently blend in eggs and orange extract. Add the flour, baking powder, and ginger and beat briefly. Add the cranberries and chips, stirring just until incorporated.
  3. 3
Spread thick batter in prepared 10x15 pan. Bake 350 for 23-24 minutes until light brown and a skewer tests clean. Don't overbake. Let it cool completely. NOTE: If you use a 9x13 pan, the bars will be thicker and will take 27-29 minutes.
  4. 4
FROSTING: Blend cream cheese and butter until fluffy. Add orange extract and confectioner’s sugar and beat until frosting is fluffy and spreadable (adding 1 t. milk if needed). Spread evenly over COOLED bars.
  5. 5
GARNISH: Use a zester to remove rind from an orange; sprinkle zest over frosted bars. Chop 1/3 cup Craisins coarsely; sprinkle over frosted bars.
  6. 6
DRIZZLE: Mix white chocolate and oil in a glass measuring cup. Microwave 1 minute; stir until melted. Use a fork or whisk to drizzle the white chocolate diagonally across the bars.
  7. 7
Allow one hour for the white chocolate to set before cutting. **To make signature Starbuck triangles, cut into 20 large squares (5 cuts by 4 cuts with the knife). Then cut each square in half diagonally to create triangles.

This tasted like cranberry cake with cream cheese frosting to me. The bars were pretty. I served it at a holiday party and about half of them were eaten. The recipe is worth trying once.

They turned out B-E-A-U-TIFUL! I've never had Starbucks, but my co-workers say these are even better! Very rich and sweet!! Thank you for the recipe. Will make again. Followed the recipe exactly, maybe cooked for less time... I wasn't paying attention

This was absolutely wonderful! I decided late last night that I had the undyind dresire to make something so I decided to make something sweet. I like how the instructions were easy to follow and they helped out a lot with how things needed to be. I had a little trouble with the drizzle on top but I made it work. I brought the left over bars to work and everyone loved them. I will diffenelty be making this again!

Absolutely fabulous bars - a wonderful change from chocolate everything and so very festive for the holidays. I followed the simple recipe very easily. The only thing that I did was to add more orange zest than called for and to double the cranberry toppings and white chocolate glaze. I did contemplate adding a dark chocolate to this in the glazing part of the recipe. Most likely I'll still experiment with that, but I'm thinking that it would be a nice addition. I'll let you know! Update! I did try the dark chocolate, substituting it for the white chocolate in the topping. It was a beautiful contrast to the white frosting and red cranberries - very pretty. And I gave the recipe to about 5 friends because they loved it so much. Thanks Cookin'Diva
