I made these every year when my kids were small. This year, my daughter resurrected the recipe for our holiday cookie trays. This recipe brings back lots of memories for us.

16 wreaths (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
In large saucepan, melt butter over low heat.
  2. 2
Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat. Stir in food coloring.
  3. 3
Add corn flakes cereal. Stir until well coated
  4. 4
Using 1/4 cup dry measure coated with cooking spray, evenly portion warm cereal mixture. Using buttered fingers, quickly shape into individual wreaths. Dot with cinnamon candies.

Be sure to wrap these individually in Saran wrap, it keeps them fresh and they look beautiful on holiday trays! Excellent family recipe of ours too for over 40 years, I highly recommend them!

I would use 5 cups of cornflakes to make the color and candy side of this recipe stronger and be sure to work VERY quickly! I had to reshape with my hands all along the way so keep them buttered! I also recommend transfering the mixture to a microwaveable bowl from the pan when you finish mixing it in the event that you have to reheat it a bit to be soft again. I made small wreaths and got 25. Thanks for posting <3

A nice alternative to Rice Krispy bars. Be sure to keep hands wet or buttered to keep from sticking to the mixture. I also took thin red licorice, and made bows for the bottom of the wreath.
