Terrific candy! I used 1 c. chocolate chips, 1 c. butterscotch chips, and 1 1/2 c. chow mein noodles (no nuts). Came out perfect. We also had these last month at a church function where they were made with only butterscotch chips and chow mein noodles, which was also very good.

I love this candy. We actually call them Chinese Chews. I couldn't find cans of chow mein noodles at my grocery store, so I just bought the packages that I could find. 1 ounce seemed to be a very small amount of noodles, so I used 3 cups. Thanks for posting a yummy simple recipe.

I could have sworn that I had already reviewed this but since I don't see my review here it is - These are wonderful! So very easy, tasty, kind of sweet/salty thing. Very different looking - just a nice change of pace and a definite kid pleaser!
