Homemade chocolate syrup - will keep for several months in the fridge

1 pint (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

    Mix cocoa and water in saucepan, stir to dissolve cocoa, heat to blend the cocoa and water.

    Add sugar, stir to dissolve.
  3. 3
    Boil for 3 minutes.

    Add salt and vanilla.

    Pour into pint jar.

This is just excellent. You can make as little or as much as you want or need by adjusting the recipe. Saves a lot of $$$ too. I'll have a small jar in the fridge from now on. Thanks Chelle N

    Woooohooo - this is the recipe I was looking for, but it's not what you think! Ever since moving to KY, I could not find my chocolate mint syrup for my morning coffee. Then, I thought ding look on Zaar! All I did to this recipe is omit the salt and add 1/4 teaspoon of peppermint extract and *voila*. What used to cost $5.00 for a 24oz bottle (on sale!) and that I couldn't find anymore anyway, I can now make at home!! Thanks SO much for posting this recipe, Chelle!
