This is a delicous cookie, but I added my own twist... First, I used DoubletheGarlic's advice and subbed cocoa powder and extra oil for the baking chocolate. Worked beautifully. (Though it was a VERY thin batter- I refrigerated it overnight.) Then, I wanted to try for a chocolate-cinnamon flavor. I added 1 tsp. cinnamon to the batter with dry ingredients. Then instead of rolling in powdered sugar, I rolled each ball in a mixture of 3 tsp. cinnamon and 3 Tbsp. granulated sugar. They are delicious- like a brownie in a cookie!!!

I was just going to add this 5-star recipe to Recipezaardom, but here it is! My recipe is exactly the same EXCEPT it uses 12 tablespoons of cocoa powder PLUS an extra 4 tablespoons of oil, instead of actual chocolate. Good to know it works either way! I'll add a photo of mine made with the cocoa. Delicious! (These also freeze exceptionally well.)

This recipe is pretty easy to make and the cookies look very nice. They taste even better. Everyone I've shared them with has loved them.

I made two types of this: as is and using sugar substitute. The latter came out perfect while the one with ordinary sugar came out flat. I chilled it again but it still came out the same. I really wonder why. Anyway, DH still liked it for the taste even if it came out flat.
