These are lighter then the ones without the Rice Krispies. I got the recipe from the "Classic Holiday Cooking" cook book. You can shape into eggs for Easter!

100 balls (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Chocolate Dip

  • 2 ounces paraffin wax or shortening

  • 1 (24 ounce) package chocolate chips (using 12 ounces for large balls or 24 ounces for small one)

Directions

  1. 1
Melt butter and while hot, stir in peanut butter.
  2. 2
Mix well and add vanilla, powdered sugar and Rice Krispies.
  3. 3
Work in with hands until it will form balls.
  4. 4
If using paraffin shred on a box grater then add to the chocolate in a double boil and heat till melted and combined.
  5. 5
Dip into melted chocolate and paraffin or shortening with toothpick.
  6. 6
    Cool on waxed paper.

This is the best treat ever!!! I made these into Easter eggs and brought to our family parties. People were sneaking some into a napkins to take home!!!! I used about 2 1/2 c powdered sugar, they definately taste better not as sweet and I molded into easter eggs with plastic eggs from the store that open up sideways. I put them in the freezer about 10-15 min and then dipped the bottom in chocolate first, froze again and then did the top. Doing it this way was cleaner and much easier. I melted some white chocolate and put food coloring in to decorate! This is so worth the effort, thanks!

Wow are these addicting. I had to give them away to friends and family to keep me from eatting all of them! I made three variations, white chocolate dipped, dark chocolate dipped, and butterscotch dipped! I had to add quite a bit more powdered sugar to get them to the desired consistency. I also used Cocoa Krispies — the grocery store was out of the regular kind! Thanks for a great little treat

These cookies are wonderful and will be on my cookie trays at Christmas time this year and every year. I made them with 2 cups of powdered sugar instead of 1 pound which is about 3 cups. They were plenty sweet enough. Rita here is the copy of the Reindeer Droppping story I gave out with the Peanut Butter balls. I printed 4 cards to a page on card stock. Each card, when cut, was a standard 3x5 recipe card size with a copy of the recipe on the back and the story and on the front. Everyone was thrilled, especially those with little children. I also posted a picture of the card attached to a bag of "dropping". Enjoy! Diane in Nebraska - "Reindeer Droppings" I woke up with such a scare when I heard Santa call…. “Now dash away, dash away, dash away all ! I ran to the lawn and in the snowy white drifts, Santa’s darn reindeer had left “little gifts”. I got an old shovel and started to scoop Neat little piles of “Reindeer Poop”. But to throw them away, seemed such a waste, So I saved them, thinking ~ you might like a taste! As I finished my task, which took quite awhile, Old Santa passed by and he sheepishly smiled. And I heard him exclaim as he rose in the sky~ “I know they’re not potty trained, but at least they can fly!” Here is another story to use if you want to dip the peanut butter balls in white chocolate or almond bark. "Snowman Poop" Heard you've been naughty So here's the scoop, All you get is... Snowman Poop!

Instead of paraffin you can use shortening.
