Chocolate Chip Snack Cake

A delicious snack cake. You can use applesauce instead of vegetable oil to reduce the fat and almost have the same texture.

SERVES 8 -12 , 1 cake (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

    In a large mixing bowl, combine yellow cake mix, vanilla pudding, eggs, water, and vegetable oil or applesauce.
  2. 2
    Beat for 5 minutes.
  3. 3
    Stir in the chocolate chips and half of the grated chocolate.
  4. 4
    Pour into a greased 9x13x2 baking pan.
  5. 5
    Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 45 to 50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean.

    Sprinkle with remaining grated chocolate while serving warm.
  7. 7
    Cool completely.
  8. 8
    Dust with confectioner's sugar.

    fantastic is right! I used half oil and applesauce, I ran out of hard chocolate so I chopped up some semi-sweet chocolate chips and used the new Oreo cookie vanilla pudding mix, thanks for sharing weekendC!

    Fantastic cake. I made it exactly as posting, using vegetable oil. I will be making this again! Made for 1-2-3 Hit Wonders Tag Game.

    This tastes amazing and is easy to put together. I used the applesauce to cut calories and because when I use it no one cal tell the difference. Made for the Everyday is a Holiday Game.
