I'm not sure if it taste like chocolate chip cookie dough exactly because of the cream cheese, but it is very good. You can serve this dip with graham crackers, vanilla wafer cookies or pretzels. I love it for when I need a sweet dessert but don't have the time to bake cookies. Cook time is cooling time for the butter mixture.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
In a small saucepan, melt the butter with the brown sugar over medium heat. Stir continuously, until the brown sugar dissolves. (You can also do this in the microwave but watch it closely. The butter/sugar mixture will boil over fast. Stir every 30 seconds or so.)
  2. 2
Remove from heat, whisk in the vanilla and set aside to cool.
  3. 3
Beat the cream cheese and confectioner's sugar for 1 minute.
  4. 4
Slowly beat in the cooled butter mixture and beat again for another minute.
  5. 5
Stir in the chocolate chips and nuts, if using.
  6. 6
Pour into a serving bowl and refrigerate.
  7. 7
Garnish with additional chocolate chips or nuts, if you choose.

I made this for a tailgate party and it was well received. The cream cheese gives it almost a chocolate chip cheesecake flavor. We thought it was best on Vanilla Wafers. I used fat free cream cheese and reduced fat butter and I don't think it harmed the outcome at all.

This is a wonderful snack, doesn't taste just like cookie dough, but close enough. Sure to please at any party.

I have made this several times before. It doesn't taste like cookie dough but it is excellent. I have made it like this and roll it in mini chocolate chips and I have made it with cinnamon chips (sometimes difficult to find) and roll it in grated nuts! I usually use the little graham cracker sticks for it and always have to write out the recipe for people! Thanks for sharing this awesome recipe!!

I made this for a fun treat for my boys, they obviously gave it thumbs up. Unfortunately I didn't go to my regular supermarket and they didn't sell mini chocolate chips, so I put regular chocolate chips in my mini food processor-I ended up grinding them too much and was a bit of chocolate 'powder' which ended up giving the dip an unpleasant brown color. They preferred the Nilla Wafers over the graham crackers, the grahams kept breaking off in the dip. I don't really care for sweets so unsure if it tasted like cookie dough, they thought it did.
