This is my father-in-laws recipe for chili. I love to make it on a cold winter night. Sometimes I serve it with Corn Chips in the bottom of the bowl, topped with the chili and then top the chili with grated cheddar cheese

SERVES 4 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Saute meat, onions and garlic until done.
  2. 2
Add remaining ingredients and simmer for 2 hours.

This was a really good guide for my chili. I used a pound of ground beef, then added some left over cooked chuck steak. I doubled all of the seasonings and quadrupled the chili powder I also added about 8 oz of Tecate (would liked to have used a stronger beer, but this is what we had). I thought this was the best chili I've made so far! Thanks for posting!

I made this for my DH and he loved it. Next time I will only use one can of tomato sauce (too much tomato flavor for us). I also added bell peppers & about 2 cups of water. This is a keeper!

This recipe was great. It was my first time making Chili and I made a few changes. I used venison instead of beef and I added some bell pepper (2) and some fresh jalapeno's (6) and it was awesome!!!!
