Chewy Chocolate Chip Bars

Recipe #100666 | 40 min | 10 min prep | add private note

By: Peggisue
Sep 27, 2004

I found this recipe in a local church cookbook. If you like a softer cookie bar, then this is the recipe for you! A definite crowd and family pleaser. I frequently give out this recipe. Also a great midnight snack IF there are any left!

SERVES 16 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Mix all the ingredients together well except for the chocolate chips.
  2. 2
    Stir in the chocolate chips.
  3. 3
Bake in a 9X13 pan for 25-30 minutes at 350 degrees.
  4. 4
I have better results using a metal pan.

These were very good. I was worried about them not fitting into a 9x13 so I made in my two 8" cake pans. They didn't last long and will be made again and again.

These are very easy to make. If you don't have the time to prepare traditional drop style chocolate chip cookies, these are a great time saver. They do seem to go stale rather quickly after cutting them so I recommend only cutting them as you need to serve them. Or maybe transferring them to a zippered storage bag rather than leaving them in the pan would help.
