We had our first snowfall of the year and it seemed like the perfect weekend to stay inside and bake. My family really likes anything with cherries in it so I thought this recipe fit the bill. I wasn't sure how they would turn out without any baking powder/soda but much to my surprise they did puff up and spread just enough. Wow, what a delicious little cookie. My whole family loved these. I really liked the texture of them too. Would have liked them to be a tad sweeter though so I think next time I make them the only change I'd make is to add a bit more sugar. Will definitely make these again. Thank you! (Tagged for Think Pink '09)

Well, this is Peeerrrfect little cherry cookies! I don't get why people are suggesting icing and chocolate topping though. It's sweet enough I say. 2 inches is quite unnecessary, by the way, 1 inch would be fine. Great just the way it is.

These were great cookies, and very festive looking on my Christmas goody trays! The others were right-- not too sweet. I like sweet, so I also made a glaze with the cherry juice and powdered sugar, and sprinkled them with red crystal sugar while the glaze was still wet. Very easy and quick to prepare, as well! Thanks Di!

These had exactly the flavor I remember from MY grandmother's recipe. Not too sweet (so just perfect for my taste!). Thanks, DI!!
