Well, I dont usualy serve this type of recipe to my family, DH doesnt like anything that may even resemble a casserole and DS doesnt like anything that is not served with a side dish of vegetables or salad. So to serve on its own,was going to be a bit of challenge. BUT this family loved it! I served this pasta on its own and everyone enjoyed it so much. So easy to make, I did change a couple of things, I only had penne pasta on hand (which is not really a major change) but I couldnt find any gruyere cheese at the supermarket and wasn't sure what to use so I used cream cheese and a little more cheddar instead. I topped this pasta with a combination of cheddar, parmesan and a little mozerella. We had spaghetti bolognese the previous night to making this recipe, so I cooked 1kg of mince and halfed the cooked mince and onion, using 500gr for the bolognese sauce and kept the other half of the cooked mince in the fridge overnight for use in this recipe, and it was so easy to make when I got home from work! Great recipe this family thoroughly enjoyed and commented on. Thanks F.C. for a great quick, easy and very tasty recipe. DS ate all the leftovers for lunch today.......now thats saying something!!!!

Very simple and tasty! I love how quickly this comes together and it tastes wonderful. My family really enjoyed it. The addition of the gruyere cheese is wonderful. Made for the Aussie/New Zealand 12 Days of Christmas Recipe Swap.

Real comfort food, and so quickly made! Came home from work, and had supper within the hour. We like sauce, so found it just right. I served this with Herbed Green Bean Casserole for a delicious and colourful meal! Made for the Aussie/New Zealand 12 Days of Christmas Recipe Swap.

This made us a nice dinner tonight and we enjoyed it very much. It was very easy to prepare. It was a slight bit too juicy for us so next time I would only add about 1 cup of water. DH requested that we also add some red pepper flakes or chilies to give it some heat. Thanks for a delish easy meal The Flying Chef. Made for Aus Swap #20.
