These are delicious. The only change I made was to use a little extra shredded cheese. They were light and fluffy and DH thought they were fantastic. I will use a heaping 1/4 tsp of salt next time and will use fresh garlic (especially for the garlic butter in step 6) because garlic powder tastes bitter to me.

I give a 4 star rating, but my husband loved them and gave them a 5! I all fairness, biscuits aren't really my thing. I will definately make often for hubby and try w/ buttermilk as another reviewer suggested. I think an extra sharp cheese would be a great chioce in these.

Excellent biscuits Marg! I can't say enough about these, they were light and fluffy, and oh so delicious! one of the better recipes for biscuits, and I have tryed many LOL! I baked the first batch, and they turned out so good I decided to made another, and stuck them in the freezer. I used 2 HEAPING teaspoons for the baking powder and 1/2 cup finely shredded cheddar cheese instead of the 1/4 cup that the recipe called for. I will be making these again very soon. Thanks so much Marg for sharing such a wonderful recipe!...Kittencal

Oh wow!!! these are incredable, didn't have any cream of tarter so I added an extra teaspoon of baking powder and just a pinch of soda. I followed the lead and used 1/2 cup of sharp cheddar and had some herbed feta I needed to us up, so ended up with about 3/4 cup of cheese total! the taste was just outstanding; they were tender and a little crisp on the outside, from the cheese and soft and fluffy inside. DH said they tasted from heaven. Thanks for sharing this special recipe, we will be making them again and again.
