This is one of my favorite breads for sandwiches, especially grilled cheese and tomato.

1 loaf (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Place ingredients in the machine according to your specific instructions.
  2. 2
I have a Breadman and I put the liquid into the machine first, then the remaining ingredients.
  3. 3
This makes 1 1/2 lb loaf at white bread setting.

Mine sunk in the middle as well, The taste was good, I only used 1 3/4 tsp yeast and I think using only 1 1/4 tsp might make all the difference. I have another recipe that has responded well to a decrease in yeast.

This did not turn out well for me at all. I followed directions exactly. The bread turned out dry and sunk in a bit in the center. My husband, who loves cheddar bread, took a bite and put it back down. I was really hoping to have the same great results as others. Sorry I couldn't rate this higher.

Wow! Just got rave reviews from DH and DD! Served this yummy bread with Macaroni, Beef and Tomato Soup #89449 and it was fabulous! I only wish it made a bigger loaf. This is one of the best breads I have ever made in my bread machine. Thanks Geema for a keeper!

Wow! This is outstanding bread ! I had only colby/jack so I used that. I used the dough cycle and baked this on a cookie sheet. It was a wonderful "grab a hunk and eat it" bread. My 2 year old was here that night and after tasting it, he kept saying "MORE". I wrapped half the loaf up for him to take home and he didn't put it down ...kept saying "MINE". LOL DH insists that I make this bread again tonight. Thanks Geema, for this keeper!
