This delicious sandwich was originally on Homebasics, adjusted to our taste. A nice crisp type of apple is best.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, mustard and honey; spread on one side of each slice of bread. Layer cheese on 4 bread slices; top each with 2 slices of ham, apple slices and remaining bread.
  2. 2
Cut sandwiches in half. Use any apple slices left to garnish.
  3. 3
(If to be used in a lunch box, add apple slices to mayonnaise mixture and coat so that they won't turn brown. If needed use a little butter or margarine on bread slices.).

We enjoyed this sandwich--it was perfect on a chilly fall night! The only change I made was that I grilled them.

This was so good! The spread had great flavor and the ham, cheese and apple combo was amazing. I used a Honey Crisp apple. I did use lower calorie substitutions and it still tasted great. The whole sandwich was only 245 calories! I'll definitely be making this again!!

Very good sandwich - I liked the sweet of the apple versus the tang of the mustard mixture. I served it on leftover hoagie rolls, but I think I would prefer it on a wheat bread next time. I used a red sweet delicious as the apple; though I think granny smith would be the way to go. Thanks for posting!
