These are no bake chocolate oatmeal cookies. They are my favorite thing in the world! You may have to experiment with the boiling time so that when you scoop out the mixture, they are liquidy, but harden after about 10 minutes.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
In a pot, combine butter, milk, cocoa powder, sugar and vanilla.
  2. 2
Bring to a boil, and time for 2.5 to 2.75 minutes. Careful with this! As I said, you may need to experiment.
  3. 3
After boiling, remove from heat and stir in oatmeal.
  4. 4
Scoop out of pot like you would cookie dough and drop on to waxed paper.

This recipe was goood because it hit that late night craving for something sweet, when nothing else was available. I made this last night after putting the kids to bed. I just went into the kitchen, through everything in the pot (as directed, ofcourse), and within 15 minutes, my husband and I were enjoying our "Chewies". The reason why I give this recipe only 4 stars is because of my own neglegence. As the recipe started to boil, I realized that I didn't have a timer with a second hand. Therefore, I just estimated the boiling time. My advice, make sure you have an adequate timer before you start boiling. I'm sure these "Chewies" have the potential for being awesome! Oh yeah...these ARE really chewie! =)

These are absolutely DELICIOUS!! My children have given this a big thumbs-up. For anyone using grams and struggling to measure 1/2 cup of butter, it's about 115g. It took about 2 1/2 minutes on the boil and sure enough they were sticky for a while (longer than 10 minutes) but they are hardening now and have a yummy, rich, fudgy taste. We can't get enough of these. Thank you so much for an awesome recipe.
