Great decorating icing for cakes.

1 cake (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

    Cream butter and shortening, and add vanilla.

    Gradually add powdered sugar.
  3. 3
    Add milk by the TBSP until icing is desired consistency.
  4. 4
    Color with food coloring, or icing dye.

    Oops. The 1st time I made it I mistakenly used crisco that had turned rancid.... OMG... it was awful... Thank goodness I tried again.. and it was perfect!

    FANTASTIC icing, followed recipe as stated, and it came out very fluffy and creamy and was great for decorating. I sure will be using this recipe from now on to decorate my cake's, I'm sure glad I came across this recipe, Thank you for posting it.

    This is the same recipe recomended by Wilton in their cake decorating classes. I have also used lemon juice instead of Vanilla. Great recipe and thanks for sharing.
