Cajun Maple Mahi-Mahi

Recipe #187367 | 15 min | 5 min prep | add private note

This is so good! I looked for a good recipe for maple glaze for chicken or fish or whatever that had the ingredients that I had on hand, but I just couldn't find the right one, so I created this extremely simple recipe myself and it was a success. I guess sometimes, to find the right answers, you have to look within!

SERVES 2 , 2 filets (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Mix all ingredients together except for fish. Spoon mixture over fish.
  2. 2
Place fish into shallow pan (sprayed heavily with cooking spray) and sautee with onions if desired for about 3-5 minutes on the first side and 2-3 minutes on the second side. Add more of the syrup mixture if you want.
  3. 3
    Best served with rice.
  4. 4
***Can also marinate fish for a few hours for maximum flavor.

Made it with sugar-free syrup. Added some garlic powder. Turned out pretty good.

My husband and I followed the directions for the marinade and let it sit about 30 minutes prior to grilling. He grilled it on the top rack with cedar thrown into the charcoal below for about 12 minutes. We melted a little butter and spread on the mahi-mahi halfway through cooking to keep moist. It was amazing!

This was surprisingly good!! We don't have cajun seasoning at home so I made it myself with celery, garlic, cayenne, black pepper, white pepper, salt, some nutmeg..etc.... Because we were grilling it, I added melted butter to the cajun/maple mix and poured that on the fish before grilling. I didn't marinate it at all, and it was delicious. THANK YOU! Never thought those flavors would go together, and ON FISH?!

I made this for dinner last night . Just perfect for the 2 of us. The flavors blended together perfectly. I had ran out of garlic powder so I used minced garlic and it was fine. I did make this in a pan on the stove but I think it would be great grilled
