I had this recipe clipped from TOH magazine for awhile now. It looks like it would be very tasty and a great side dish for grilled meats. I haven't tried it yet but will soon!

SERVES 4 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Cut cabbage into four wedges; place each on a piece of double-layered heavy-duty foil (about 18 inches square).
  2. 2
    Spread cut sides with butter.
  3. 3
Sprinkle with salt, garlic powder, pepper and Parmesan cheese.
  4. 4
Wrap a bacon strip around each wedge.
  5. 5
Fold the foil around the cabbage and seal tightly.
  6. 6
Grill, covered, over medium heat for 40 minutes or until cabbage is tender, turning twice.

Great way to cook a vegetable on the grill while you are grilling. Since I am the lone cook at my house, it helps to have everything in one place! I did cook the bacon partially before placing it in the foil packet with the cabbage. Five stars for the easy preparation! But to be honest, I think I prefer plain old fried cabbage. As stated though, this is another great vegetable recipe for the grill, to be used along with my corn, zucchini, squash, eggplant, onion, mushroom, etc recipes!

Really good cabbage recipe! I didn't use the bacon. Kept everything else the same. My girls were expecting potatoes to be unveiled from the foil, so I got a few funny looks, but everyone really enjoyed this alongside grilled chicken. Thanks for sharing.

I love this! Easy and really good. I used the oven at about 400 degrees, since I wasn't barbequeing tonight. Thanks for this one!

This was a great new cabbage recipe for me! I loved the smokiness of the bacon permeating the cabbage. I even got my boys to take a taste. Thank for a great recipe.
