This was not bad, but I probably wont make it again. Maybe I just don't like cabbage as much as it remembered.

This is a great alternative to meat and cabbage rolls. I didn't notice it was a Crockpot Recipe. So I made it in a covered casserole dish in the oven. Baked it for a little over 1 hour at 350 degress. I browned the meat, onion added the rice. Cut the Cabbage into the casserole added the meat mixture the soup and water. I also added 1 can of Stewed tomatoes. It was delicious.

I made this tonight, following your directions exactly, except I decided to take it one step further. I read Elvishdreamer's review and liked her husband's idea about adding saurkraut. So I added a can on top of the meat layer and then added the sauce as directed. My DD came home and asked me why our house smelled like Nana's house! My DH raved about it and both DDs liked it with the noodles I had on the side. I also made soft pumpernickle bread #98450 and that complimented it nicely. Personlly, I liked the saurkraut, but thought it was a little too spicy. Next time I will rinse it before adding. Thanks nnreq for a new favorite.
